Broaden your knowledge of agricultural (AgVet) chemical use to increase safety in the workplace.
This course is endorsed by AusChem and gives you the training you need to work safely and responsibly with chemicals. You will gain the knowledge to accurately interpret information written on chemical labels, and the skills to manage all issues associated with the purchase, storage, handling, use and disposal of chemicals.

On successful completion, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for this course, which may contribute to the award of an agriculture, horticulture or conservation qualification.
It will also assist you in gaining licensing from the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP), including the Agricultural Chemical User Permit (ACUP).
You must be at least 16 years of age, have some experience in applying chemicals and have access to a suitable practice environment, as determined by the teacher.

This course involves accredited units. You will be required to complete assessment tasks to demonstrate your underpinning knowledge, skills and attributes to meet the course outcomes. A combination of written, oral and practical assessment strategies will be used in either a classroom, online or workplace environment.
Where units require demonstration of skills in a workplace environment, you will have the opportunity to do this either in your own workplace (where appropriate), through a practical placement, or by using one of the Institute's simulated workshops/classrooms. Detailed information about the types, conduct and dates of assessments will be provided in advance. You will also be provided with information about the opportunity for reassessment and appeal.
Once you have booked your place in a short course, you will receive an email confirming the date, time and location of the course, and instructions on the next steps of your enrolment process. A tax invoice/receipt is automatically emailed to you at the time of purchase.

Complete a Pre-Training Review
You will receive an email to complete a Pre-Training Review online. This evaluation helps us ensure you receive any necessary support to achieve a successful outcome for your course. Failure to complete will incur a $20 administration fee for a booking cancellation or transfer.

Skills recognition
If you have experience or prior qualifications, you may be eligible to apply for recognition of prior learning and gain credits. You will be asked to provide any relevant Statement of Attainment to support identified credits.
